Not really. Star Wars has to detect a launch across the world and doesn't use radar technology to do it. Then it needs to launch missiles into space and discriminate between real and dummy warheads as well as MIRV's. It's kinda like comparing a toy train to Maglev high-speed rail.

About $6 bucks a person. Boy that's a lot less than the $500 bucks a person we give to Israel. But then, those state of the art weapons systems are a lot more expensive than a bowl of rice. That's prolly it.
