Ben Gurion Airport is about 10 miles southeast of Tel Aviv. One missile hit the town of Yehud about a mile north of the airport, damaged a house but didn't hurt anybody. I wouldn't think twice about my own safety flying into Israel, but many of the world's airlines are pretty nervous now after Putin's antics in Ukraine. Delta is still not flying there, despite the FAA ban being lifted (as is still true for a number of other carriers).
BTW, the FAA isn't a political operation.

No, it doesn't. But the tendency to assume it does falls squarely into the old Bush mantra of; "If you're not with us, you're against us.".
This was foolishness then and it's foolishness now.
Just as the notion that anyone who speaks out against the policies of the Israeli government is assumed to be an anti-Semite. I would think that people who complain about being called "racist" when they oppose the POTUS would get that. But, alas, it would appear that they only complain of such things when it's useful to them.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm a night owl up in the middle of the day and it's nap time.
Later, Dudes.

Hope Issa does not start an investigation on the FAA since he is running out of arrows.

Sadly I believe the last line is probably true.

However, many American cities are a greater danger to themselves than anyone else. I shouldn't have to explain this to the gentleman from Cleveland.

The former New York mayor flies into the airport with a lot of indignation and noise. He flies in on EL AL which is equipped with anti missile system.

Chaff and flares won't help against the unguided crap that Hamas is firing.

Its certainly selective indignation, combined with rhetoric in multiple other posts that criticize Israel while ignoring the actions of Hamas. Also suggesting that Israelis "stole" the land while conveniently forgetting that Jews have lived in that part of the world since the time of Moses (ancient history) and more recently forgetting that the Ottoman Empire was dispatched in WWI when the Brits took over and issued the Balfour Declaration. You have to work pretty hard ignoring a lot of history - and have some sort of agenda that doesn't flatter Jewish folks - to develop the kind of world view that Zeke exhibits in this thread.
