Robbin the GOP will use any means fair or foul to gain power. Of course that is a poll tax.

Is there any doubt what they're up to? What they've BEEN up to for decades?

I find it interesting that straight ticket voting affects the Dems more.
A state ID in Ohio costs $8.50.

So, a poll tax is okay as long as it's affordable?

It depends on your definition of poll tax.
If someone needs to take a bus to the polling station is that a poll tax?

Boy, Pete! Can't you try a little harder? That's an absurd arguent.
If someone needs to pay to establish his or her right to vote, it's a poll tax.
John

No but if it costs $8.50 to vote yes that's a bloody poll tax. I burn gas to get to our polling place but they do not charge me to vote. Hell half the time all they do is ask my name and where I live, if I am on the list I vote.

In order to get welfare here in Ohio you need ID: a DL or State ID, and birth certificate, and SS card, for everyone in the home, not just the person applying. I see the whole thing as a nonissue but it sure gets the respective bases fired up
