There are now Trabant and Wartburg clubs in Germany dedicated to somehow keeping these buckets-of-bolts on the road.

Give me one of these, with its 6 cylinder 4.5l I would not take it out much.
Oh yeah 1936 Lagonda.

Beautiful car! The stone wall in the second picture suits it to a T.

Supras' back, runs great. Install is beautiful too, you'd never know that engine was touched.
$2300 all in, $720 engine, $1100 install, $4-500 parts. Hope the kid learned his lesson.

Reckon if either the Trabant or the Wartburg was an incendiary death trap like the Ford Pinto?

I would imagine with the Pinto it would be the car ramming it that would be sitting over the pool of flaming gasoline. Give me hydrogen any day one big poof and its all gone.
