Funny. I go to work every day, and my healthcare is in no way tied to my employment. Further, the entire western world outside of the US of A has healthcare that had nothing to do with employment, and they seem to be showing up for work too. Funny!

As far as the stack of fiat that JJIII and I are commenting on we know the truth. This happens to be all our problems and why our salaries just don't give us the quality of life. Your employer can double your pay in fiat but in a year you will have not gained anything. This is due to the rapid devaluation of the currency. In a hyper inflationary period you what to spend the currency as fast as you get it. No Im not saying we are there yet but it's far worse than any figures we are getting from the Fed.
Your wages are based on inflation for raises "Cost of Living" So when the numbers are wrong so is your raise. This is why we are going backwards as far as Quality of Life.
It's not all Corporations in fact they are not the ones to blame. It's the Fed and the monetary policies that your anger should be directed to.

In the bolded;
No, they're not. I haven't had a "COLA" raise in years. Few people do any more, 'cept maybe government employees and the last three private sector union members left. When was the last time you checked to see if people get annual COLA increases? 1999?
Where do you get this bullshit?
Employers ARE cutting wages. They're doing it cross the country. My employer just cut the starting wage by $3 per hour effective January the first and begun pressuring older employees to retire, firing people at the drop of a hat and scrutinizing the shit out of people. It's called wage reduction through attrition. Pull your head out of your ass and face reality. Income disparity IS a problem and it's getting worse. What's more, it's deliberate. They do it simply because they can.
It's right in front of your face and you don't "get" any of it.

He'll never see that, Erik. He's a fool. Half of these countries that have single payer, or similar systems are KICKING OUR ASSES in the global marketplace. But, we cling to this bullshit we have because of fools who are scared to death that someone might get a condom on their dime. It's fucking sickening.

He's not connected to reality in any way, Rajoo. He's talking to himself or the voices in his head, is all I can figure.

That horribly expensive, ridiculously expensive health care system is a lot of what cost the US millions of jobs over the past decades. I remember when we stole a couple of plants from you guys some years back. The reason Toyota gave was that, even though our wages were much higher, the health care costs were so much cheaper that they ended up way ahead opening the plant here.
If you really think about it, if you decided to start the worst health care system you could for the average Joe, the US system would pretty well be it.
If you think what any country really needs for success, the two crucial elements are a healthy and well educated workforce. The US is the model for how to make those two things hard to achieve.

I hate to agree with you Eric but it's true and we will continue down that path as long as our politicians are beholden to the biggest donors to their campaigns. We be phucked.
