I wish I could remember the author of this quote but it seems relevant here. I'll put it in quotes even though it's more likely paraphrased.

"I was lucky. I was born a bastard, but a lot of people spend their whole life becoming one."

Regards,

D-Ray

Just browsing some stone age threads. Well, I am not an arrogant, I am an ignorant bastard.

This apercu (c with cedille, don't even find the cedille on the keybord) was unknown to me till today, it is a shame:

"Mea navis aericumbens anguillis abundat".

Of course this precious ancient remark has been familiar to all of you fine intellectuals - but not to me!

I am an uncultured uneducated Black Forest hillbilly - quod erat demonstrantum.

I can't be arrogant. That would be a defect of character, and I don't suffer from those.

Sounds like you are a more disciplined man than I. Brings a song to mind from the early 90's.

I'm not arrogant, but most folks are not intelligent enough to realize it.
I used to be conceited, but corrected that defect myself, and now I'm the most wonderful person you've ever met.
Thought at one time I might be schizophrenic, but my less paranoid self finally convinced me I'm not.

BTW, the repubs up here that were all cozy with the oil industry, you know, the ones SP helped put in prison?
They had baseball hats made up, that said "Arrogant Bastards Club"

It is the famous Monty Python style, yes, so it's older than this thread, almost as old as I am...

I discovered a lot of Monty Python material in the last years, I was a tiny kid when this group was popular. So my assumption was right - a good one, but known for decades for you elder people.
