Screw Background Checks. Just print yourself a gun!
You'll need the right equipment and materials, but I think this fully demonstrates the folly of regulating / banning things, especially things that a would prompt a healthy black market to spring to life. Just think, instead of a still up in the hills 1920's Prohibition - style, you'd have a CAD and small manufacturing operation. The finished product would be a lot easier to conceal and transport, too.

So the only solution is to become a civilized society of honest people.
Probably easier for the dish to run away with the spoon as the cow jumps over the moon.

I think I hear the sound of a can of worms being opened.

Fear mongering.
The media played the same game with the story that Glocks were plastic and could get through metal detectors.
Man this shit is getting old.

Great. Here comes the end of civilization.
I would think, just like any other electronic transmission, the source could be tracked down, hacked and blocked. Any illegal gun manufacturer would have to stay on the move to make it work, much like other terrorists must constantly change devices and IP adresses to avoid being tracked down. I guess it could be done, but it would be a PITA.

These 3D guns are useless without a factory barrel.

It's been a while since I left the plastics processing business. But, in the 12 years I was in it I never met a resin capable of handling the repeated shock loads or heat that a decent gun would generate under heavy use without deforming at the very least. There would have to be a steel chamber and barrel of some sort.
I'm guessing this printable gun is a POS, good for one shot at best.

Anything other than a hardened steel barrel will not handle the 60,000 psi chamber pressures, nor will the rifling hold up to a projectile going through it at 3,000 fps.
As for the OP, I suppose he also supports legalizing crystal meth, as it is also possible to make it at home.
