And BTW, there was never a conspiracy, just errors by the CIA. That's absolutely nothing new. In fact, they've rarely gotten anything right since they were founded. More Faux BS.

Here's a book recommendation on how phucked-up the CIA has been throughout its history.
http://www.amazon.com/Legacy-Ashes-T...egacy+of+ashes

Hell, they didn't even predict the collapse of the Soviet Empire, while at the same time were pretty sure about WMD's in Iraq.

For me, it's very easy to believe that the CIA fucked up big time. As for all of Faux's bullshit while they shill for Romney, I don't believe a thing they say. Ever. Period.

Thanks for that, Pat. It is amazing to me that so many want to believe this complete fantasy about stand down orders. I guess it's a love of single source low information news that is to blame. Folks who refuse to dig into the stories they are being fed just blow my mind.

Ignore what? All there is now is a bunch of falsehoods, innuendoes, and flat out lies posted over the Internet. Nobody knows the truth yet about what happened. Some is coming out and it is painting a very different picture of the overall situation.

One major question I have is, if the ambassador and his security staff were under imminent threat of death, what in the hell were they doing in the consulate in Bengahzi that was very susceptible to attack. They should have been in the embassy in Tripoli, an embassy built to the 1985 standards, just a few years ago, that made new embassies safer and almost immune to RPG attacks. It just does not add up to me.

Personnel and family members had been evacuated months before the attack. I can only assume that ambassador Stevens refused to leave. He was very well liked in the area since he spent most of his life there starting with the Peace Corps after college. He was very popular man in Libya. Pro American rallies, after the death of Stevens, in Libya were pretty much ignored by the press in this country.

Another thing mezz. I don't remember a single call for Reagan's impeachment after the 1983 terrorist bombing of a Marine barracks that killed 250 brave Marines. Least we forget, he started a war in Grenada two days after the tragedy in Beirut, to save some Medical students that were in no real danger. Wag the dog anyone?

My point is "shit happens". You can pollute the Internet tubes with BS but it really doesn't mean a thing. You can politicize a tragedy, but in reality Obama is not God, and his hands are tied in International relations. You can't just throw in a force to quell an invasion of a US consulate without it being viewed as an invasion by the host country. Sure, I bet an air strike could have stopped the attack, but at what cost of innocent lives. There is much more to be considered in a situation like this than can we save four Americans. Americans are dying everyday for this country in unnecessary wars. Why in the hell is there no outrage on the right about these deaths. Possibly because the same neocons that ran Bush are poised to take power again in 2013. We can look forward to more of the same old bullshit that nearly bankrupted this country in the 2000's if Romney wins (steals) the election next week.

I will laugh my ass off when normal working class people realize that Rmoney is not the hero to save them from the scary Communist, So************************t, Muslim, Fascist, Marxist, Nazi, (Insert insult here), black man.

So we're asked to rely on a blog on the WaPo opinion page as fact? No thanks.

Here you go, Whell. How about a piece from one of the nation's foremost foreign policy journalists?

There's no there there, Whell. Get over it. You'll be better off for it. Or you can continue to believe Sean Hannity or some Faux bimbo. Your choice.

I thought that Ignatius was regarded as one of the best friends in the media that the CIA could ever have?

You been fed another pack of utter lies by the rightwing propganda machine and swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

There was no order to stand down. It's bullshit.

Just admit it and stop wasting our time arguing endlessly over tactics.

Regards,
Dave

I think highly of Ignatius. His article is based on a report and a personal interview with CIA staff. I'd say he's a bit more credible than any of the ideological and shameless shills on Faux.

Actually, that came from Melvin Goodman, who leans pretty far to the left.
