Get them to join up and I'll do my best not to call them a f**king Oreo to their face. They don't wear sweater vests, do they Jay?

just kidding...maybe.
I spent the first 10 years of my life in South Central L.A. which I imagine is every bit as badass as Detroit. The Motor City did produce the music I cut my teeth on. Even after those mop topped limey's showed up it was the music of choice in our house! We were seduced by those guys too eventually. Hell, I even listened to some Beach Boys but only in secret. The ridicule would've been rough from the kids I hung with. The first band I ever saw live was Martha Reeves and the Vandellas playing over at USC's frat row from the back of a flatbed, Dancin' In The Street. There was a local LA TV station sponsoring these shows, there's probably video in a dusty archive somewhere of me doin' the Jerk or the Slide.

Man, I hope no one has uploaded
that to youtube!
Now I live in Orange Co., Calif. A righty wingnutters promised land of crackerdom, I'm embarrased to admit but someone has to keep tabs on you crazies here behind the Orange Curtain....
