By the way, that's a cigarette. (or is pretending that it's a blunt part of the "joke"?)

John
Somebody called me and told me that it was a blunt, and that Obama has been smoking it for the past 11 years.

Okay, now that's nearly humor. Keep working at it and you might get there.

You should be smart enough to know that when you have 4 Congresscritters announce something like that, it is all about optics. DiFi is just playing along to show that the Dems are tough on national security issues. It's all kabuki, Whell.

That's right. I looked it up, and now I know what a "blunt" is. A few more posts and look-ups and I'll get your language down pat.

Obama is tougher (or at least smarter and more effective) than Dubya on national security. Yet, the narrative is that the GOP is the party of national security (and family values and fiscal responsibility, among other fictions) and the Dems are always running scared about being labelled soft on national security, despite objective evidence to the contrary. Conventional wisdom and perceptions often drive politics and the parties fight to support the favorable conventional wisdom and dispel the unfavorable, and that's exactly what is happening here (on both sides).
