If your water comes out of the ground, instead of a pipe, you might be a little more concerned about "Fracking" than those hooked up to the pipe.

Exactly, we much prefer water - even if it is highly acid - to methane.

Don't worry. The waiting list to get on the yacht is pretty long and ordered by donation amount. Send more money.

Nothing wrong with energy. A lot wrong with the way we extract it and use it.
How would you like to wake up one morning to the sound of a huge explosion. When you rush out to see what happened you discover the beautiful Appalachian mountain behind your house is now a hill and the stream you love to fish in is filled in with debris and, even if it is restored, will never be the same. A few months later you have to haul in water because your well is contaminated. finally you end up selling out to the coal company for pennies on the dollar because they have destroyed the value of your property. It happens every day.

I'm sure there are some that go to the extreme, but, seems to me the average person understands we have to be smarter about how we harness energy, the existing methods and potential methods.

I'll agree to that, but I think we are throwing way too much money that we don't have right now at new technology. I am OK with it at the R&D level, but how much have we spent on wind generators alone that won't pencil out for years. Let's also not phase out the current technology until there is viable replacement. It just makes rates go up. Higher rates coupled with huge subsidies equals too much money being spent in our economic situatuion. I would actually like to see more research done on power storage than production. I think that is where the key lies.
