I prefer the catfish I catch out of the small lake Fayetteville were I have a boat docked. It is a couple miles from my house. Every year we have a huge fish fry to eat up all the fish we catch. We build a big pit out of concrete blocks, build a charcoal fire, put large cast iron skillets on the hot coals full of oil, and put out the breading. You dredge the fish, coat it, and fry it. We have another section with grates to cook corn on the cob with the husk on that has been soaked in water. After it is cooked you shuck it and stick it into large tubes of real butter. It don't get any better than that.
A forty pound Brown Trout! Dayum that thing must've looked prehistoric. eastern side of the Sierra Nevada has some really good Brown fishin'.

Lion's club here in Costa Mesa puts on a huge fish fry every year that's truly a feast and the proceeds go to a long list of charity work. Lots of ocean rock cod that's local caught, ummmm. I've always grilled corn that way it tastes a hell of a lot better than boiled like most do.
