You are joking of course. What about the original Godzilla films?

As to Made In The U.S.A. that godawful hash made of "The War Of The Worlds" (both versions) were good for special effects, but so is AVATAR.

Now if someone were to make a version of War Of The Worlds that had more than a passing resemblance to the book by H.G. Wells it could be exceptional. Good plot, well written; it wouldn't even need the kind of special effects budget capable of making a bankers lips tremble.
