Second, I would expect that automobiles do much more to contribute to the nation's productive capacity than firearms do. None of the intended purposes of automobiles include use as an instrument of death. Firearms, while they have recreational purposes, are designed to be capable of grievous bodily harm. Except on rare occasion, automobile deaths are accidental. Except on rare occasion, firearm deaths are intentional. Accordingly it is a red herring to compare the number of deaths in automobile accidents to deaths by firearms.

The "Bushwhacked" court, I like that. Didn't Shrub make a comment on the Constitution something like "That God.....d piece of paper"?
Had it have been the "Chaswhacked" court, the view of the 2nd Amendment would have been rolled back to the 1700's.
Personally, I feel that the 2nd amendment should be viewed according to the intent of the Founding Fathers. And in the spirit of giving your fine legal mind something to do all day, I have inserted a collection of links From Gunsite which do precisely that. Gunsite, BTW, is a private school created to teach the tactical use of firearms. They are partisan.
No need to thank me now, D-Ray!!! And I fully expect you to use this information as the bludgeon with which to bash in my skull!!! Just go light on the legalese, otherwise I will have no idea of what you're talking about. Not too worried about that, as you have always laid out your viewpoints in layman's terms.

Automobiles and firearms are two different things. And the ownership of an auto is hardly a "right". It is a "privilege", and a damned expensive one to boot. License plates should be white, with an inscription which reads "Taxes Paid" below the number.
