Hi, I'm new to this forum and would like to introduce myself by sharing my thoughts on this years GOP.
I don't know where this thread has been heading, far away from the original discussion but anyway...
Herman Cain and his "999" or "666" plan will leave us American broke and the great depression would look like Happy Days. Cain encourages the middle class and poor to buy used goods including food if they want to pay less in taxes. Anyone for that matter would pay more in taxes then they do today if they bought new goods on a regular basis.
This is a terrible plan and would destroy jobs as people would try to always buy used and some things cannot be bought used so you're stuck anyway. Then after this tax is settled in a VAT and Carbon tax would be introduced. He was also caught lying. Cain has lost my vote.
Mitt Romney seems to have a vendetta against Rick Perry and likes to spend most of his time bashing him instead of focusing on his campaign. I've watch about 3 different interviews with him where I overheard a person whisper to him what to say. This tells me he's a puppet unable to think for himself and possibly part of the Hitler originated NWO that George Bush Sr. spoke about and now Obama has come out with it. So Romney has lost my vote.
Rick Perry must be illiterate and wasn't taught proper english. He also likes to bash Romney without focusing on his campaign and he's a huge liar. He changes positions more than I change underwear. Perry has George Bush comedy written all over him and would be fun to watch but not someone I want as my President. Mandatory Vaccines do not appeal to me either.
One other guy has made an impact in the polls. The other candidates have not done much.
Ron Paul is the only candidate who makes any sense to me. He wants to defend the constitution, go back to sound money, get rid of the Fed and IRS and replace them with nothing meaning your contributions to the Government are up to your state. Making government small and putting it back in the hands of the states and the people makes a lot of sense and is what our founding fathers wanted. If you think about it we're living in the ancient times today and our founding fathers were trying to progress our nation into the future but everyone just ignored the constitution for the most part.
Ron Paul also came out with his budget plan on October 17th and after reading through it he wants to eliminate 1 trillion within the first year and is willing to take a $39k salary, that of the medium income family. Since 2000 (after Clinton) our country has not had a positive budget. Especially since Obama became president our deficit has tripled and has not been so low since the 1930s. Ron Pauls budget puts our deficit back in the positives within 3 years of office. Sounds like a winner to me.
I'll be registering republican so I can vote Ron Paul in the primaries, then I'll go back to independent.
You guys can do what you want but the mainstream media is not the place to get your information in order to have an educated, unbiased opinion. Go to each candidates website individually and study them, then you can make a well informed decision.
Screw the sides of left and right blah blah I don't care. If you are for the constitution, want money actually worth something and want to take back control of your country, Ron Paul is the only avenue to do that.
Thanks guys, this is an interesting forum. I'll be here to educate the best I can if people are willing to listen.
