We don't "deserve to lose", but, we will because our "moron filters" are only set to blame those at the bottom. Whilst the truly destructive idiots just move on to wreak their destruction upon other businesses.
I assume that was in response to my post BlueStreak.. Actually, I got a good picture of the top folks who seed the "tech start ups" in Silicon Valley. These venture capital guys put it all on the line. If you rescue an "at risk" company, you get a pass for doing one dumb thing to jeopardize another company. But when you get 2 strikes against you --- NOBODY is going to fund you or put you on the team.. So my Silicon Valley experience is that the "guilty" morons get adequately filtered. Any profession should work that way. Doctors, lawyers, Senators.... (just dreaming about that last one).

Now I'm sure from your perspective, in more mature companies, (not start-ups or fast moving tech), there's probably an unlimited supply of moron baggage just hanging around. I've seen that too. Too many bushes to hide under there. Almost as bad as a major Federal Dept. LOL..

Management has to be leaner and more focused to get accountability. If the line workers are being blamed, then management is totally inept and incompetent. Its their job to make the processes and goals in line with the ability and motivation of the staff.
