This is now the umpteenth time you've said this, Pete. I'm having a hard time understanding why you, a Republican, are upset that Obama hasn't (yet) fulfilled every campaign promise. Did you cross party lines and vote for him, expecting he would? Campaign promises are aspirational, not blood oaths.

In fashioning your response, please reference any other successful Presidential candidate who kept every one of his campaign promises.

Harold McMillan, Prime Minister of England (1957 - 1963), responded to the following question from a journalist "What is most likely to blow governments off course?" His response "Events dear boy, events."

In a similar vein, events are what make great leaders IMHO. Lincoln and FDR would not have been considered great leaders without the Civil War and WWII, respectively. Similarly, Dubya's response to 9/11 defines him, and his misadventure in Iraq will be a millstone around his neck for decades to come (unless somehow it transforms itself into a Jeffersonian democracy, of course. I'm not holding my breath).

This fact (events make the man) is what has the GOP apoplectic about Bin Laden's killing and scrambling to diminish it (or take credit for it). Their whole narrative about who Obama was (is) was dashed on the rocks of western Pakistan.
