Our government, perhaps. But the general populace seems to fear everything outside of the box. Many Americans seem horribly xenophobic. (If I'm understanding your statement correctly.)

Rhetorical question.

I'm not sure how the notion of Globalism applies to the Canadian government.
To the last,

I was referring to looking towards any foreign government or society to see how they have addressed similar problems. Healthcare is a good example.
To say, "Well in Denmark....." or "The Germans...." is the quickest way to kill a conversation. And God help you if you mention the foul and most foreign French.

Globalism relates in as far as the growing influence foreign nations now have and will continue to have over our economy and thus many of our internal affairs. An example would be unions. A company locating here from a highly unionized nation, say Germany for example, I imagine would be quick to tell American politicians that if they don't keep the unions away, their plants and all of the jobs associated with them are gone. They can locate anywhere in the world, it doesn't have to be here. I see this as foreign influence over our internal policies. (And yes, I realize American businesses can, and have done the same.) I would also tend to think that labor isn't the only area this affects either. And, I believe this trend will continue to grow and become a sort of de facto form of corporatist world government.

The "New World Order" if you will. And it is anything but Democratic.

No. I'm not saying the Canadians are trying to shove their mortgage rules on us. But, maybe we could try to learn something from them? Fat chance, any one who suggests it would be immediately told to move to Canada if they want to have it that way. Which takes me back to the beginning...................
