I have had dogs all of my life. I'm down to one now, and she is one pampered dog.
It's rough that we euthanize these animals, and watching the video was tough and heartbreaking. The saddest part is knowing that there are people who will just drop them off at shelters thinking they will find a new home. Well, maybe they will.
But, what are we to do? There are millions of them. I believe encouraging people to spay/neuter helps, and certainly helps to curb euthanization. But, can you force people to spay/neuter? Would you if you could?
Certainly a more humane method could be found to euthanize, but I imagine many agencies would balk at the cost. After all, isn't that what everything boils down to these days?
Sad, truly sad.
