I'm kinda like Woody Allen- I don't mind dying, I just don't wanna be there when it happens...Seriously, though, having watched my 2 granmothers SLOWLY check out-at 102 & 104, & my granfather going in about 3 weeks or so, at 94, "The Long Goodbye" route is for the birds. One granny fell, broke her hip at 96, & was actually closer to 103 when her body finally decided to throw in the towel. Her mind pretty much was gone when she broke her hip...The other granny broke her hip, too, at 100, but her mind stayed reasonably sharp up until about 6 months before she died at 104.
