Really, the true owners of the land are Natufians and then Canaanites.
The trick is to slaughter the previous occupants so completely that nobody from the prior civilization can survive to air grievances or argue against the validity of that next culture claiming that they are the 'true' inhabitants of a land.
I guess "occupation is 90% of the law" is what's actually in play.
I'm pro-Israel, but spare me the sacred homeland stuff. It's modern territorial politics stuff.
