So the so called 'gun grab' is an NRA propagated mantra and IIRC, there was a claim that "Obama will come for your guns" during his presidency. So I object to the phrase "lip service" and need for gun ownership regulation is real.

I know they do, I am pretty left leaning myself and know plenty like minded people also.
To think that some politicians and people on the left do not want to do a "gun grab" is naïve at best. I have seen it said live on the idiot box enough "if I had my way all guns would be illegal"
But our civil discussion is just that a discussion that will change nothing. As Chicks stated above the first real change will more than likely be born from a SCOTUS change... a little hint, none of us will probably be alive when the court shifts.
