I think these kind post are to some of the point of this thread, why was asked by the OP at one point.

We shoot all the time now that we do not need to go to a range, the range officer "spidey sense" in me goes off to much at public ranges over the last decade or so. Most of ours is .22 via .22 versions of our "real guns", AR-15/22, 1911 in .22 and a Beretta 92f in .22. That saves a lot of money and shooters get familiar with the "real" versions manual at arms.

I still hunt but rarely with a firearm, the last Elk I took a few years ago was with a stick and a string (English Longbow) and homemade arrows. I bird hunt with a flintlock flowing piece, one shot one kill if you want to eat. I have shot and hunted my whole life, nothing "macho" about it growing up and still not a thing in my immediate family.

I was going to mention this about the gunshow I mentioned up thread but figure some would be offended, my grandson will be 4 in August, bought his rifle there (and they background checked me ) a Cricket .22. He will not get it until he is ready, could be this weekend or 5 yrs from now, we will see.

Both my daughters shoot regularly, often for some stress relief. My youngest is a Pastry Chef at a dude ranch resort in Arizona, she can shoot at work... that just does not sound right in todays atmosphere.
