One weekend about fifty years ago my bro in law and I explored the diggings in downtown Washington DC. By the time I'd moved back to California in 1980 the Metro was really up and going from Silver Spring to downtown and elsewhere.
Sure would be nice if the powers that be here in Orange county, Ca. would get off their asses and join up with that massive system they're building up in Los Angeles county. Light rail is by far the most economical and lower polluting way to move people around in the big city.
Too bad we've been run by devoutly ignorant libertarians for so long here in the OC. Dumbassery on parade is what you get with those Luddites.
