Thank-you for revising hate. And hate is not the same as contempt or disdain. Hate is the emotion that rewards bloody violent thoughts with pleasure. Hate goes all the way, hate is out to kill the other, or hurt them any way you can. Hate is unrestrained. Reporters who hate would be outright malicious, and utterly unethical. You should not imagine that is a normal state of affairs, because I truly believe it isn't.
Believing that others hate is one step from reciprocating. And of course, the next step is others perceive you acting hateful, and the vicious circle turns round and round. We all need to check our attitudes, and not get caught up in this. Being very careful about ascribing hate to others is a very good idea, seems to me.
