Putin took and held Crimea, nothing happened. Then took the two provinces still nothing happen. Shot down a plane full of passengers.....nothing happen.
He and China see the west as weak. China will be more likely to take Taiwan from the looks of the responses so far to Putin.
They see just words with little bite when strong actions are called for.
