IMHO, their communications are being tracked, the encrypted ones are analyzed based on patterns. They'll find out 'who's large and in charge' when the time comes.
Also, 70% of the guys strutting around with their AR-15s are deathly afraid of getting shot by someone else. They will bail on their 'cause' as soon as their organization starts to crumble.
