You know, I do find your last post to be something almost verging on rude, in a passive yet aggressive sort of way. Surely free gentlefolk should be free to engage, or not engage, totally of their own volition, without having to defend their choice, or be put upon by peevish questions that actually suggest their actions are failing to meet some standard or other. Astonishingly, you even have the brass to affirm that such standard would include an expectation of entertainment on your part. I of course realize that you are actually joshing us on this point, as I'm sure you are in fact vastly entertained by your own acts of creation of your small but elegant prose parcels, and your subsequent auto-appreciation of them. It but remains for me to note in conclusion that false geniality and perfunctory politese are no substitute for sincere honest good will, and only by undergoing an unlikely epiphany of empathy can you hope to win the engagement of others in the sort of respectful and sincere discussion you indicate that you crave.
