In other words, American Citizens trying to exercise their right to worship as they see fit want to build a bigger church to replace their smaller church. Congregations do it all over America all the time. In fact, this project has been in the works for quite a while. Very few cared. It didn’t occur to anyone to protest it because it was such a typical and uninteresting bit of news. Not even Fox News reported anything about the mosque- until…
A NYC blogger decided it was offensive. No one thought anything about it. It would have been built and no one would have cared until this guy mischaracterized what was happening. Confronted with only the headline “mosque to be built near ground zero” with no context of the actual situation, frightened people over reacted.
I understand why people are scared, but they’ve been duped on this one. Now the blogger who broke this important news story has moved on to anti-Semitic causes.

Take a read. Should we now protest the construction of Synagogues?

Here's a bit more irony from the story.

By conflating their demented ambition with Jews in general, they cleverly shifted the blame onto unwitting Jews, using them as Trojan horse, human shield and human sacrifice. Many gentile anti-Semites oblige by blaming all Jews regardless of individual responsibility. (And these critics have great moral pretensions.)

The blogger is indignant about blaming an entire religion for the misdeeds of the few. Hasn't that tactic been used elsewhere?
