I don't know who uttered those words (presumably the Imam), but they happen to be true. It just so happens that Glenn Beck said exactly the same thing on the air in front of his chalk board a few months back. I didn't hear right wingers calling for his show to be taken off the air.
The Iman (and Beck) didn't say was that 9/11 was an appropriate and justifiable reaction - it wasn't. They simply said it was a reaction - duh!!!
Similarly, Pearl Harbor was a reaction by the Japanese to our efforts to prevent them from getting natural resources from southeast Asia. It wasn't an appropriate reaction IMHO, but a reaction nonetheless.
