And yes, the briefing you referenced demonstrates that Comey took the content of the document seriously, and was treating it as "intel" rather than political opposition research. So Comey was snookered by it, and one is left to wonder what actions he took based on it. FISA warrant requests? Investigations? Who knows?

Comey and Mueller are both Republicans and Rosenstein was appointed by Trump and they all seem to think that it is worthy of investigation for obstruction of justice.
If the FBI had credible evidence that Trump had been compromised by the Russians, his campaign director had worked previously for Russian interests and had laundered millions of their money, and his National Security Advisor (in waiting) was a foreign agent, are they supposed to ignore it? Most patriotic Americans are uncomfortable with the possibility of having a Russian stooge or stooges in the White House. I'm puzzled why you're not. Aren't you interested in knowing the truth about what the Russians did and to what degree, if any, that Trump's campaign was involved? It's profoundly unpatriotic not to want to know the truth IMO.
