If Trump already had a broad and deep understanding of foreign affairs and security policy, I could understand curtailing his briefings somewhat. But he's fundamentally clueless in this regard, not knowing what the nuclear triad or Iranian's Quds Force was. Moreover, he's going to be advised by Michael Flynn, a once respected general who has turned into a nutjob and conspiracy theorist, and Steve Bannon, a white nationalist with ties to all the right wing crazies in Europe (most of whom are supported by Putin). Intellectual laziness is not an attribute, particularly when you surround yourself with nutjobs as your closest advisors.
