New York Times: Bar Association backs away from 'Trump libel bully' report

The American Bar Association is holding off on publishing a report its committee of media lawyers commissioned on Donald Trump's record of suing his critics, which concluded that Donald Trump is a "libel bully," The New York Times reported Monday.The ABA decided not to publish the report —titled "Donald J. Trump Is a Libel Bully but Also a Libel Loser" — about Trump's libel lawsuits out of fear that the Republican nominee would choose to sue the organization, the Times reports.The ABA denied that the fear of lawsuit played any role in the decision not to publish the report. ABA spokeswoman, and former USA TODAY managing editor, Carol Stevens said, "We thought it was an insightful article, and we asked them to consider minor edits."
