Looks like you're, uh, not right. In fact, a Pew Survey of opinions on the media, folks ranked WaPo right up there (down there?) with HuffPo as the "preferred" news source of lefties. Now, the survey was taken about a year after Bezos closed the deal on WaPo, so things "may have" moved since then.
But, to your other point, if you look at the list of WaPo opinion writers, it hardly reads like a who's who of conservatives, though there are a few who might be described as "institutional" conservatives (Will, Cohen, etc.).
