Indeed! as a youth I spent alot of time at the park as it was literally my back yard. had lots of fun playing in the creek and riding our bikes there. even found Morel mushrooms under the trees. on the other side of the parkway there are a bunch of apartments or now condos? anyway my grandmother always warned us to stay away from that area, calling it the league of nations, perhaps my first exposure to racism...
