Every poll showed Bernie beating Trump more handily in the General than Hillary and, unlike Clinton, none showed Bernie losing to Trump. It's now beginning to emerge that Hillary is becoming a drag on the down ticket races, so we don't get the Senate back and we make no dent in the Republican House majority.
But don't worry, Bob. I'm going to be much too depressed and frightened to say "I told you so".
