You can try to make yourself feel better with that brain - dead argument. Fact is, there's a good reason the US does not pay ransom for hostages. For instance, according to Barry himself:

I firmly believe that the United States government paying ransom to terrorists risks endangering more Americans and funding the very terrorism that we’re trying to stop. And so I firmly believe that our policy ultimately puts fewer Americans at risk.
So, we'll see if Obama's payment of ransom ultimately results in additional targeting of US citizens. Hell, Obama's own Justice Dept warned against making the payment. In the meantime, there are already reports out there that indicate our payment to Iran has already been redirected to Iran's military.
