Those are alnico-magnet drivers, and as such are considered wonderful rare vintage technology of the past by some, for no good reason that I know of.
The sealed-backs on the mid and tweeter are to isolate their cones from back-pressure from the woofer. It's a necessary thing, though on mids a can or box enclosure is often used.
I suspect bass will be their Achilles heel. But they should be fairly high-efficiency, giving big sound with a 15 or 20 watt vintage receiver. Might actually be a good match with a low-power tube amp.

Thanks for the information. From the first listen, I think that they should be worthy of a little elbow grease and a new set of caps. Howard's Feed & Wax has done wonders for a few old cabinets around here. It appears that they have the old accordion surrounds, so no need for replacing those. Maybe I'll have some time for that around November.
