You fellers just need to back off from the table a little. Me, I was what they call "Super-morbidly Obese", & people like me have only a 2-5% chance of losing weight & keeping it off. We're no different than alcoholics or dope fiends in a way, but where as you DON'T have to have alcohol or dope to live, you DO have to eat...Before they'll let you have this surgery, you gotta be a supermorb, & have at least 2 "Co-morbidities", typically diabetes & hi-blood pressure, & have been an abyssimal failure in trying to keep the poundage off..Then they also test you psychologically to see if your overeating isn't covering up some deep-seated psych problem....This is Big-Time, heavy-duty, life-changing surgery, its NOT to be taken lightly...People who think that its nothing more than a glorified tummy tuck have got their head up their posterior. I used to be able to wolf down about anything I wanted..Now, make a fist. The area or volume occupied by yr 4 fingers is a little more than I can eat at a setting..About 2-3 really good bites. Yeah, I miss not being able to tear into a steak, one of those "jumbo-sized" helpings of seafood, or a washtub-sized salad...But I also kinda enjoy living, which was soon gonna be iffy had I not had this done.
