This is getting quite interesting and probably not the kind of attention that the GOP is looking for. More than 42,00 signatures already with a stated goal of 50,000 which seems like a slam dunk. Now how are the two leading candidates Trump and Cruz going to back off after comments like these?

Quote:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), for example, suggested in December that gun-free zones attract killers.

"If you're a lunatic, ain't nothing better than having a bunch of targets you know that are going to be unarmed," he said.

A month later, Trump echoed that sentiment, saying he would end "gun-free zones" at schools and on military bases.

"You know what a gun-free zone is to sickos? That's bait!" he said in early January.
The best course of action seems to me to allow guns of all types at the GOP convention. Heck build a tent outside where the gun manufacturers can display their wares, an NRA booth, an open free bar for the convention revelers.
