Surprise, I actually agree with you here. Trump's support is wider than just the racists and the bigots and what is behind this, I do not quite comprehend. Part hero worship I think, otherwise how does the belief that "Trumps tells it as it is" jive with "Trump lies 75% of the time" which is a fact? Another part is the 'anti-establishment/Washington Outsider' label that he has clothed himself in. I for one don't believe this, since he has been hobnobbing with politicians all his life.
In the end it may be as other people have commented, he is the best of the worst choices within the GOP, and if your lawyer friends like and support him, you can bet it's something to do with money. Since you live in NY, any banker/finance type supporting Trump also?
