You are really well read...I read You Can't Go Home Again and Look Homeward,Angel back in 1985 but did not know much about Wolfe's feelings about race. I happened to turn to Wolfe because he was mentioned in the novel Sophie's Choice by William Stryon. That is a great book also.

I have yet to read Of Time And The River. I think he was influenced by Proust.

I need to start reading Faulkner.

In college I took an Abnormal Psychology class and the textbook mention Wolfe as possibly having a personality disorder.
