That's why even calling the Resource Officer to deal with the situation was dereliction of that responsibility. Discipline is not what they're there for. Safety is what they're there for.
And again, Sheriff Lott agrees.
Good old Zeke! "Hulk smash!"

You know I never remember seeing a cop at my Junior High or High School.
It was always handled by the faculty.
And we had some pretty bad assed kids even back in the day.
There where fights fairly often. We had a number of those Fonzi type greaser rednecks that would start a fight if you brushed their shoulder in the hallway or they didn't like the way you looked at them. That was mostly in junior high. Most of the worst kids had either dropped out or were in jail before they got to High School. We had kids flush cherry bombs down the toilets. Another one brought some tools to school and stole a bunch of the plumbing fixtures out of the bathrooms. We had several kids sent up to Marianna, which was where the state reform school was. One of them for pushing the History teacher down a flight of stairs. Just about every boy had a pocket knife of some kind. And of course there was the usual smoking in the boys room. That was not allowed, but there was a designated smoking area out under a big oak tree at the back of the PE field.
We had corporal punishment in Junior high were the assistant principal would swat you on the ass with a paddle. It was referred to as "getting licks". That got to be a badge of honor among the bad kids. The one who had gotten the most licks during the year got bragging rights.
