As long as the changes are clearly indicated, say bolded, and as long as the writer further indicates the change in the reply, "Fixed it for you", there is absolutely no harm at all.
You may not like your words being played with and that's your right but there's no intent to deceive. At worst, it's an attempt to poke a little fun at the quoted post and its poster. As such, it would be way down the list of "offenses" we see here on a daily basis.
