And she killed herself (if she did, investigstion still open) because she was mistreated by the cops.
Of course, they are responsible if they went into the cell, killed her, and edited the recording. But let's say you're right, let's assume the best for the cops, and say she indeed killed herself.
If you hit a person lightly, but kill them because they have a thin skull, that's manslaughter. Likewise, if you traumatize and threaten, and they are vulnerable and thrown into despair, you likewise bear responsibility for the result of your wrongful actions.
The cops are the bad guys here, any way you cut it.
