Here's a thing.
In Baltimore they call it a "rough ride".
In Philly it's a "nickel ride".
In Boston it's a "screeen test" (because of the heavy mesh partition inside the paddy wagon.
Other places call it "rattling the can".
Seems to me that, any time you come up with a cute little nickname for a thing, that name is widely understood and the thing it describes routinely practiced.
Cops are so cool.
