Which if incurred during the process of arrest is unfortunate but this is what can occur if you do not immediately submit. (No resistance means no need for force of any kind.)
If he was injured at that point? Officers are not typically trained medical professionals and this stuff is faked all of the time. Normal procedure is to secure the offender, transport, and analyze upon arrival at county where (around here) there is an on call nurse. If Gray was previously injured and nobody noticed? Also merely unfortunate.
If he was harmed worse -- with intent -- during the ride? That's criminal.
