I do not regard the debate as pointless. Not at all. I consider it important to oppose the 'kill 'em all' sort of war-reaction. Important enough to sacrifice your kind regard to do it.

DQ you really do not listen do you? I know exactly who and what I am all too clearly believe me. Perhaps the brain cells were His way of compensating for the body, for all of my life I have been unable to lift my left arm above shoulder height. Despite leaving school after completing tenth grade I have made my way in this world with no help from anyone simply because anything I was given I earned.
So here I am an 84 year old man whose body shows signs of the miles put on this chassis, but Alzheimer's can get stuffed. In those years I have been married twice (and have been most fortunate in the second one). Raised a son anyone would be proud of and given a woman the happiest years of her life - and mine as well. So when it is time for me to stand before judgement I am not too worried.
Have I hurt others in all those years? Most likely I have and have been hurt by others. Quite possibly because neither of us had a choice at the time. But I have never taken a human life, I did have to have a cat put down once because his kidneys had failed but I sat with him until his heart stopped.
I do believe that I am compassionate but I do not allow that emotion to make me forgive evil deeds done by others. Someone once wrote that the best PR deal the devil ever pulled off was when he convinced the majority of people that he does not exist - they may well be right. At the moment he is leading ISIL.
