This is so very tiresome! Criticizing Israel isn't the same as criticizing Jews and the critic is not a anti-Semite by definition... or, for that matter, even anti-Israel. That doesn't stop Israeli apologists from hurling the accusation any time anyone says anything critical of the country's actions. It's how they avoid having to defend the indefensible.
By the way, there are many, many Jews who are far more critical of their government's actions against the Palestinians than I and quite a large proportion of them are Israeli citizens. How do you explain them? Are they anti-Semites too?

It's no less tiresome for supporters of Israel, dontcha think John? Unless, somehow you enemies of Israel are so much more sensitive to fairness and human suffering than idiots like me. BTW - I've been called a racist just as often as I might have suggested that the zealotry of others is generated by bigotry. So it's not a one-way street by any reasonable measure.
Now...WTF do I care for how many self-hating Jews there are in Israel who never got over their built in cultural guilt and have decided that this latest pogrom isn't as serious as the prior pogroms. Or that after having heard it so often, that they finally believe that they are dirty Kikes after all, and that they actually have deserved all the pogroms...including the current one. Self-hate is often considerably easier for many than believing in oneself and acting in one's own self-defense.
Here's what I believe John. History has shown us how the rest of the world victimized the Jews of the world over and over and finally in nazi Germany the allies left them hanging out to dry and twisting in the wind at the hands of homicidal psychopaths. Like Tonio K once wrote, "They put Hitler in the driver's seat and looked the other way." I will question very little of what Israeli Jews decide to do in the interests of protecting themselves from the next holocaust. Lleft to their sick will and caliphate zealotry, Muslims will happily slaughter every Israeli Jews they can and drive the rest into the sea...all the while mumbling about how great their god is. Any suggestion that the attitudes of Muslims have changed and that a majority of Muslims anywhere have accepted Israel's right to exist, is a bullshit lie.
Have mistakes been made by the government of Israel? Sure. The government of this country incinerated over 200,000 innocent people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. So there ya go.
There are a few of us on this forum who are students of the distant and more recent history of the region. The history is clear that Jews have as much historical investment and rights to a chunk of this dirt as do Arabs, Kurds, Turks, Shia or Sunni Muslims, or anybody else.
There's lots of propaganda being spewed by both sides. So now John, I know which side you're on, and you know which side I'm on. So, I don't think it needs to go any further than this...particularly if you're finding the discussion quite so fucking tiresome.
I've been clear about this on the forum before...perhaps you missed it. This is personal for me. (Just as my abhorrence of this country's democratized gun carnage is personal for me.) If that makes my position worthless do to an absence of logic and an overabundance of emotion, as has been suggested here before, please understand...IDGAS.
I suppose we could move this in the direction of going back on topic if we wanted to discuss the fact that there's just as much anti-Semitic sentiment in France (particularly in the south of France), as there is anti-Muslim sentiment.
