The entitled have to blame someone and the most obvious target is the guy saying "you can't have anything that you want." On the other side is the occasional officer who became law enforcement merely because kicking his dog wasn't fun, anymore. When they meet, it's ugly.
But there's a lot more of the first than the latter.
Normal folks that knee-jerk distrust cops are either easily threatened with something to hide (which can be useful if necessary) or have nothing to hide but have met one of the poor officers at one point in their lives which has
made them threatened (which is bad all around because they
act like the first group).
It sucks for everyone involved.
